Over
the years new workshops were built and are now one of the largest in
the region with 3000 sqm of factory and additional 750 sqm of
office/warehouse.
J&D McLennan Ltd have manufactured mechanical equipment under license

| In
1976 we were approached by a company called Hawker Siddley from the UK
who had the agency for Jetway Aircraft Passenger Boarding Bridges. They
had marketing skills and we had the manufacturing facilities so a 50%
joint partnership was formed under a new company which was called
Airport Equipment Ltd to market and manufacture this equipment under
license for our part of the world.
Not
long after the formation of Airport Equipment, Hawker Siddley in the UK
was nationalized, and J and D McLennan Ltd purchased the shares that
Hawker Siddley held and it became a wholly ownedsubsidiary of J and D
McLennan Ltd which it is still today.
Our
first order for the supply of PBB’s was at Auckland Airport in NZ and
30+ years later 4 of the original 6 are still in operation. Since then
we have manufactured and sold over 220 units which are scattered
throughout NZ, Australia and the South Pacific.
Airport
Equipment Ltd has a reputation of quality of service. This success is
based on the quality of equipment and expertise of staff of J&D
McLennan Ltd, which carries on all manufacturing for Airport Equipment
Ltd.

| Volume
of work in Australia required greater presence there and in the early
1980’s Airport Equipment Australia Pty Ltd was established to service
Australian market. This was in response to both looking after our
interests there and the opportunity to provide ongoing maintenance and
better serve customers in Australia. We currently have a team based at
the International Airport in Sydney which performs maintenance on all
the boarding bridges and aircraft guide in systems there where we have
something like 65 units in service.
Through Airport Equipment Australia Pty Ltd J&D McLennan has an established presence and contacts on Australian market.
